One way ticket..

In a few weeks I am off. On a one way ticket to Washington. To stay in this lovely house.
This is the fabulous 4-storey house that Malcolm and Hinda recently bought.

I love the feeling of "the one way ticket". Free to move on...
Not to return, dutifully... to mind the cat, pay the bills and take care of things and people..
all the "musts and obligations"!

There is so much to look forward to in Washington for a future grandmother like me!

I love this international city. A bit serene in an odd way - quite European as a matter of fact - for a big US city pumping with pulse, politics and cultural expressions.
The first time I stayed here was back in 1965 on a brief stopover on my way by car to Mexico for a three months stay down south of the border! This time I am going to stay here a bit longer and hope to explore Washington by bike!

This is the terrace of the new house. It can be reached through the kitchen. I already fancy myself having breakfast here in a few weeks together with my son, daughter-in-law and with my new granddaughter! How absolutely wonderful!
